1. What we collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and name via Clerk, our authentication provider. When you use Sequence, we store the invoice and client data you enter, including client names, email addresses, invoice amounts, and reminder rules. If you connect Gmail, we store an OAuth refresh token so reminders can be sent on your behalf.

2. How we use data

We use your data only to operate Sequence. This includes scheduling and sending reminder emails, showing delivery activity, and powering account and billing functionality. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

3. Gmail and Google API usage

Sequence offers an optional Gmail integration. If you connect Gmail, reminders can be sent from your own address instead of our shared sending domain.

Permission requested

We request onlyhttps://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send. This is a write-only scope used to send outgoing reminders.

What we do not access

  • We do not read your inbox, drafts, labels, or existing emails.
  • We do not access Google Contacts, Drive, Calendar, or other Google services.
  • We do not share your Gmail token with third parties.
  • We do not use Gmail tokens for anything except sending reminders you configured.

Revoking access

You can disconnect Gmail anytime from your account settings. You can also revoke access from the Google Account permissions page.

Sequence's use and transfer of data received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements.

4. Third-party services

  • Clerk for authentication
  • Convex for database and backend
  • Google Gmail API for Gmail-connected sending
  • Dodo Payments for subscriptions
  • Vercel for hosting

5. Data retention

Data is retained while your account is active. If your account is deleted, associated invoices, reminder rules, logs, and stored Gmail tokens are permanently removed within 30 days.

6. Cookies

Sequence uses essential cookies for authentication and session management only. We do not use advertising cookies.

7. Your rights

You can request export or deletion of your data. If you are in the EU, GDPR rights include access, correction, and deletion of your personal data.
